Last weekend I was in Berlin and this is what it was about: full-blown Summer! The perfume of strawberries and linden flowers on the city streets. Dusseldorf, Dusseldorf, today you are obliging me to wear a raincoat, this morning I saw people in wellingtons marching in at my café, and rightly so: it was pouring down. Oh it feels like March!

Lange Nacht der Museen – NRW
Did you order this online?!?
“Honestly I don’t know why they delivered this! must be a mistake!”
“Come on…you shop-aholic amazonian…I saw you browsing last night before coming to nest! I told you…we can’t afford this! Blimey…males…when you are on a website all of a sudden you become addicted…”
“Ok ok got it…er…I had bookmarked it…for later in the year…just looking…and then somehow it found its way in the shopping trolley…I will go to the post-office and returnit, ok?”
Spring in Rome?
It is indeed rare that MeinMann – the Roman whose roots are indoubtedly stemming from beyond Limes Germanic tribes – utters some nostalgia of his hometown, the Urbe. But but but…today he did whisper…”Blimey do I miss the late Winter, early Spring walks in Rome…am walking here in Golden Acre Park and it’s just…bloody muddy…”.
So I re-blog a roman February 2011 photo…taken in our street, in our Kiez in Rome…and one dated April 2011, from the Palatine hill…I miss Rome, yes, it is time to go back and have a look again…maybe we will notice change, maybe change is not what we are after….
Winter Winter
This week we all got snow….first in Leeds….then in Dusseldorf…then in Leeds again…the magpies are progressing in their engineering masterpiece, just in front of our balcony…see MeinMann, it’s pretty advanced since last week when you were here and the magpies had just started off on a sunny Saturday….
But now let me blog something more urban…

Frau K.
today I had to do something which I was not looking forward, but that’s life. Or rather, that’s death. You were my tenant, and one day you got all pampered and ready and went out to go to your shop, with your poodle in tow. You never came back. It is not for me to know what happened. A heart attack, I suppose. Sorry to hear that. I wonder where is your dog? Continue reading ‘Frau K.’
Cat-neval
It is that time of the year, Carneval, and for the first time we have not fleed the Rheinland 😉
Yesterday I spotted a small family all dressed in Lego stones…home-made costumes, a cardboard box for the body, a flat box on the head with 4 plastic goblets, all carefully painted over in Lego hues. Cute!
We’re not Carneval fans so gemuetlich weekend, a bit of sun on Saturday, for some nice shopping in the neighborhood…and some sun-bathing at home. In Leeds on the other hand it was rainy…and today we also catched up here in Dusseldorf.
