in the (Köpe)nick of time

The perfect Summer day after so much rain. Destination: Köpenick.

We crossed die Rote Insel, Kreuzberg, Tempelhof airport field, Neukölln and the Wuhlheide park. Koepenick is to Berlin what Burano is to Venice: a village full of colors, with one or two tall towers and small cafes on the docks. We stopped for Kaffee-Kuchen in the Altstadt Cafe where the waitresses wear these irresistible meringa hats.

We took the vaporetto to go to Berlin’s Burano, even if it was just for 1 minute in order to cross the Spree from Bauschulenweg to Wuhlheide at Wilhemstrand.

Fabulous light on our way back to Berlin via S-bahn…due to a flat tyre!
